New York City, L'Amour Club - 10.11.1984.  (Thanks Mick)

Lydon has a lot of trouble throughout most of the set with malfunctioning monitors.

Performance wise this is probably the best audience recording from this lineup. The quality is not as sharp as most from this era, but it is still the best bootleg in my opinion. There's a lot of audience noise, especially people singing along etc, but the band and Lydon can be heard perfectly clear throughout.

All in all it seems like a good natured gig apart from the "tuppeny, ha'penny arseholes" who are spitting. For the most part Lydon is in good spirits though.

An example of Lydon's playful mood on this one is when the band finish playing Chant, he keeps singing so the band launch back into the song for another minute. When they finish playing Lydon again keeps singing, so they have to begin playing again. Indeed he does the same thing with This is Not a Love Song.

The set ends with a fantastic verion of This is Not a Love Song (is there ever a bad version of this song?) and even more interestingly with Memories, which was a rarely performed song at this time.

Highly recommended!

It is unclear which songs are performed as encores due to numerous tape cuts.

There is a cut between Bodies and Public image.

There is a cut between Public image and Anarchy.
