Manchester, King's Hall - 23.2.1979. (Thanks Mick)
A very raw sounding gig and definitely one of the best from the very early years. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of crowd noise, but the band sound very clear and play a powerful set.
Thankfully this would be the last appearance of Belsen in the set. It is also false started, but apart from that it's almost a perfect performance. Keith's guitar sounds particularly brutal on this one and thankfully isn't drowned out by Wobble's bass.
I always thought, and part of me still thinks that this could be a recording from the mixing desk. There's very little crowd noise, and what little there is, is unusually distant for an audience recording. So my estimation is that it's a less than perfect soundboard.
To my ears there are no tape cuts.
