Lyon, France, Palais D'Hiver. (Thanks Mick & Tony).
This bootleg has been available for years, however the original tape played much too fast, which in my opinion makes any bootleg unlistenable.
Recently I decided to change this and with a bit of editing I corrected the speed, which makes the world of difference. At the correct speed it's actually quite a good gig. Lydon's vocals sound a little more distant than the bands instruments which takes a little getting used to, but apart from that it's a very clear, low generation recording.
For some reason Low Life is incomplete and we cut very suddenly to Annalisa. (There is also a brief cut during Annalsia.)Religion is split between 2 tracks with the organ intro being treated as a separate song.
During the closing bars of Attack, Arthur Stead knocks out the intro to La Marseillaise on the keyboards.
The speeded up recording clocked in at a mere 39 minutes, but the corrected version has been stretched to a whopping 43, which may not seem a lot on paper, but believe me there's a BIG difference to what you hear, as it no longer sounds like his John Thomas is trapped in a mangle.
