Castle Hill, Australia, The Hills Centre - 11.8.1989. (Thanks Mick & Brad)
Very few soundboard recordings exist from this tour (if fact very few bootlegs exist from this tour!) so new arrivals are more than welcome!
Thankfully this recording features a little more audience noise than is usual with mixing desk recordings, so I assume that audience microphones were also in operation. This is a good thing because it gives the recording a more lively and energetic feel. There is nothing worse than a recording with virtually no noticeable crowd noise.
The band certainly seem up for it and Lydon gives it his all, as well as being full of put-downs to a section of the crowd who are throwing missiles in the direction of the stage; "That just missed me, you fucking redundant tool!"
After Home Lydon beseeches the security to deal with the trouble and even threatens to leave the stage should it continue.
Thankfully there appears to be no more trouble after that, so either his warning was heeded or secutirty dealt with the issue.
Between Disappointed and Same old Story there are a few unedited minutes of crowd noise while the band leave the stage.
The last 3 songs are performed as encores.
