New York City, Brooklyn Zoo - 29.1.1983  (Thanks Mick)

A fascinating document of the final months of Keith Levene. There's not many bootlegs from '83 that still feature Keith, so this is a welcome addition to any collection.

Judging by the noise the crowd make it must have been a well attended gig and PiL pull off an absolute cracker.

The performance time is actually a lot shorter than the running time suggests, as there's at least a minute of crowd noise and 'tuning up' between numbers as it seems that PiL were in no hurry to vacate the stage.

They also play a fantastic version of the elusive Home is Where the Heart is, which has to be a show highlight.

Between Mad Max and Public image there's almost 5 minutes of audience nosie due to the fact that the bootlegger doesn't switch his recorder off, though I can't imagine there's many people who will sit and listen to it. PiL end the set with No birds... which Lydon introduces as "This could be heaven." Unfortunately the song is incomplete so the whole recording comes to a very abrupt end. Pity...

There is a cut between Death Disco and Chant.
